The online animation classes at Uppsala University were about designing a character and a game concept to then animate a short 2D cutscene that could be in the game. The first class focused on animation principles, character design and animating a walkcycle. The second class was set up to mimic a production pipeline from idea to finished animation for the game concept. My game concept was based on information I learned about Norway during the class: from 1978 to 1989 it was illegal to “introduce and sell skateboards or parts for skateboards, advertise skateboards or parts for skateboards (and) use skateboards.
An animation short following the premise “one sentence animation”, where the whole plot is one sentence long.
An animation short following the premise “one sentence animation”, where the whole plot is one sentence long. This short was my main project while on an exchange semester to Tama Art University in Tokyo. It was set up in a production-pipeline manner, with plot and character design first, then storyboards and animatic, then final animation and sound. My one sentence plot was “A deer girl discovers a factory monster in the woods”, where she digs up wires in her garden that lead back to an abandoned factory that has been taken over by the factory “monster”.

Short animations to explore different FX ideas and working methods, using the topic “ways to peel a banana”. #3: blending.
Bachelor’s project from HDK-Valand This project was an exploration of the horror genre in games and stories and how we can visualze horror differently than many modern horror movies and big title games. It was comprised of three main parts: game concept building around the chosen text which was The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, storyboards and animation to show story progression and potential gameplay, and a physical booklet compiling the project together.
